ILDA was named for co-owner Santiago Guzzetti's 92-year-old Sicilian grandmother, who taught him how to cook. The restaurant's location is where Pace's stepmom, Karen, once ran Meatballs, a casual pizza and pasta joint. In 2020, after working in the food service industry in Manhattan for 10 years, Guzzetti and Pace returned to the town.
