The Big Nasty is 1/3 pound of rare, thinly sliced, roast beef laid down on a bed of French baguette and covered in a delicious brown gravy. They even top it off with a mix of grated cheese and a side of your choice. I selected potato salad. It was just plain wonderful. The brown gravy had plenty of flavor and stood up to the roast beef well.

Well, first Eyester sent a lot of tweets to McAlister's, and now he's changed the name of his sandwich, at least for the time being, to The Nasty McAlister.

This could be the last week patrons are able to call the chicken biscuit covered in gravy from Hominy Grill a "Big Nasty."Widespread sandwich place McAlister's Deli is serving papers to anyone using the name of their trademarked open-face roast beef sandwich, otherwise also known as "The Big Nasty." Last week, Eater Atlanta posted that Morningside restaurant Rosebud received a cease and desist.
