These small marsupials are native to Australia and are known for their incredible ability to navigate rocky terrains. The rock wallabies found in Geoffrey Bay are a subspecies known as the black-footed rock.

Geoffrey Bay Snorkel Trail The Geoffrey Bay Snorkel Trail is situated off Geoffrey Bay Beach. There's plenty of marine life around the Moltke wreck, a popular German cargo ship that was sunk in 1911. When heading out of the trail, you'll come across plenty of fish and reefs around the rocky areas.

GEOFFREY BAY SNORKEL TRAIL The trail starts on Marine Parade, about 400 meters from the beach, directly across from Arcadia Village and just down the road from the famous dive shop, Pleasure Divers. Four numbered surface floats outline the trail.

Geoffrey Bay Snorkel Trail starts approximately 400m from the beach opposite Hotel Arcadia (parallel with the old barge ramp). It offers a good selection of fish to see around the Moltke wreck. For stronger swimmers, the WWII aeroplane propeller and engine block (from a CW-22B Curtiss Falcon) also is a great adventure.

The Great Barrier Reef Marine Park Authority authorized the creation of the Geoffrey Bay Snorkeling trail in 2012. There are 5 floats setup to guide you along the trail that starts ~395 meters from the shore. One of the highlights of the trail is the wreck of the Moltke, a boat which sank in the 1911.
