The Church of the Val-de-Grâce is a Roman Catholic church in the 5th arrondissement of Paris. The church was originally proposed as part of a royal abbey by Anne of Austria, the Queen of France, to celebrate the birth of her son, Louis XIV in 1638. It was begun in 1645 by the architect François Mansart, and completed in 1665 by Gabriel Le Duc.

Deconsacrated in 1790, Val-de-Grâce was officially handed over to the army by a decree of 31 July 1793, and in 1795 it was transformed by the Convention into a military training hospital. Opened in 1796, the hospital became the Ecole d'application du Service de santé militaire founded by a decree dated 9 August 1850.
