In 1968, Gerhard Richter embarked on a journey to capture the timeless beauty and turbulent power of the sea in his painting titled Seascape (Seestück). This masterpiece marked the beginning of Richter's exploration of seascapes , a theme that would thread its way through his illustrious career for thirty years, with his final seascape.
