Rabokki ( 라볶이) is a type of tteokbokki (stir-fried rice cakes), with added ramyeon noodles. [1] It is a street food commonly sold in bunsikjip (snack bars). [2] As with other tteokbokki dishes, eomuk ( fish cakes) and boiled eggs are a common addition. [3]

It's a treat that, once you've had it, you'll become seriously obsessive over. And believe me, I have! It's the perfect marriage of starch on starch.

Rabokki is a thrifty concept similar to Chapaguri (a portmanteau for Chapaghetti and Neoguri instant ramyun ), featured in Bong Joon Ho's 2019 psychological thriller Parasite. Instead of mixing two types of noodles, rabokki is the addition of ramyun into tteokbokki, chewy Korean rice cakes stir-fried in a spicy-sweet gochujang sauce.

Rabokki (라볶이) is a Korean portmanteau for Ra myeon (라면, instant ramen noodles) and Tteok bokki (떡볶이, Korean spicy rice cakes). It is a popular dish to many Koreans, particularly amongst teenagers. It gives spicy, delicious and addictive flavor and is quite a filling food at a relatively cheap price. Probably that's why it is popular.

Step 1: Start by soaking the tteok (Korean rice cakes) in cold water for about 10 minutes to soften them. Drain and set aside. Next, chop the cabbage into thin slices, chop the green onions, slice fish cakes, cut kimchi in smaller pieces and boil eggs (if using). Mince garlic and set aside.
