Cattleya portia coerulea

Cultivation and History Cattleya species grow wild across Costa Rica and South America at high altitudes where the air is moist and cool. Most of them are epiphytes, which means they grow on other plants, usually trees. But they aren't parasites, and they just use the host plant as a means of support.
