Van Gogh en de Zonnebloemen

Deze enorme zonnebloem is duidelijk het hoofdonderwerp van dit schilderij. Van Gogh hield erg van deze bloem. Later, in Zuid-Frankrijk, schilderde hij grote boeketten zonnebloemen. Ook in Parijs maakte hij al een reeks stillevens met dit onderwerp.

Van Gogh maakte dit schilderij op de heuvel van Montmartre in Parijs.
