Il misterioso ponte della Gula si trova pochi minuti fuori da Varallo, risalendo la Val Mastallone. "Gula", cioè "gola", è il nome che deriva dall'impervio restringimento delle valli in cui si trova il ponte. Infatti, le rocce si stringono a strapiombo in una forra sul cui fondo scorre il torrente Mastallone, che da il nome alla valle.
