We went to the Glow Worm Tunnel with our 2 WD car through the Wolgan Road from Wallerawang, just a few kilometres west of Lithgow. From Wallerawang you follow around 30km the paved Wolgan River Road. After another 1,5 km gravel road you will find on the left side a small parking area and on the right side a sign Glow Worm trail 4km one way / 4 hours return.

You're not going to do this at 60, or even 40, so plan accordingly and you won't be upset. The tunnel and the walking track to it are well maintained and safe enough.
