Anvil Rock is the prominent crag located on the eastern edge of the Muir Snowfield about 400 feet below Camp Muir. It is also the site of a former fire lookout cabin. With an elevation of 9584 feet, it was the third highest lookout cabin ever built in Washington (only Mt. Adams and Mt. St. Helens had higher cabins).
