Anything apple-scented smells and feels divine. This amazing apple crumble sensory dough and apple gak dough are no exceptions! We used Asia's gak dough recipe, but modified it a bit at the beginning of play to make an apple crumble sensory dough to start that resembles the texture of homemade moon sand.

To make apple cinnamon oobleck, I combined: 1 cup of corn starch (corn flour to my European friends) 1/2 cup to 1 cup of apple juice. 1 generous tablespoon cinnamon. I started off by only combining the corn starch with 1/2 cup of the apple juice, and then adding more apple juice to reach my desired consistency.

1 1/2 Cups Corn Starch. 1 Cup Water. Food Coloring. Optional: Glitter, sequins, or water beads (already soaked up with water) Put corn starch in bowl. Add food coloring to the water and stir. Slowly add water to the corn starch while stirring. It will be hard to mix at first. Mix with your hands, if you don't mind food coloring on your hands.

Just before we were ready to play I saw Still Playing School's Taste Safe Apple Oobleck - they used cinnamon sticks in the oobleck which I thought was a great idea! So I added some cinnamon sticks and also some paper leaves for extra colour and texture. F played with oobleck for ages! The cinnamon sticks were the perfect tool for pushing.
